Lewis F. Logeman
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lewis F. Logeman, 86, of Emden, died 10:20 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden with the Rev. Frank Pieper officiating. Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery with full military rites accorded. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and one hour prior to service on Monday at the church.
He was born Oct. 8, 1921, in Dwight to Fredrick "Fritz" and Flora (Skoneski) Logeman. On Sept. 7, 1942, he married June Epperheimer, who preceded him in death on March 2, 1991. On Dec. 26, 1994, he married Ruth Finchum Krueger, who survives in Emden.
He was a retired building inspector for the city of Lincoln. He was a World War II U.S. Navy bomber pilot and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden. He was a member of Emden American Legion Post No. 506, Brotherhood of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Logan Bible Fellowship, prison ministry and hospice volunteer.
Memorials may be made to Camp Griesheim or Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln or donor's choice.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters, Cindy Jane Kuro of Decatur, Fredrick "Bud" Robert (Leslie) Logeman of Harrisburg, David Baxter (Shannon) Logeman of Los Angeles, Calif., Paul Lewis (Tracey) Logeman of Murphysboro and Rebecca Elizabeth (Mike) Wheeler of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Jayne (John) Cross of Emden; two stepsons, Fred R. (Susan) Finchum of Atlanta, Ga. and James (Carole) Finchum of Springfield; one nephew, Terry (Donita) Briggs of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Kuro, Joseph Lewis Kuro, Sarah Jean (Jay) Herring, Molly Louise (Jeremy) Klope, James Paul Logeman and Alexander Lewis Logeman; eight stepgrandchildren; and nine great-stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah; and a sister. Harriet Biggs Talbert.
