Larry D. Sanders

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Larry D. Sanders, 48, of Herrin, went to be with the Lord after a sudden brain aneurysm Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Mr. Sanders was employed by Tim Murphy Custom Homes.

He is survived by his wife, Christy Sanders.

Arrangements are being handled by Van Natta Funeral Home, 427 South Park, Herrin. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Herrin.

He was born April 13, 1960, in Herrin to father, Larry Dale Sanders deceased and mother, Dixie (Manning) Ogden.

Survivors include mother and father, Dixie and Kenny Ogden of Herrin; wife, Christy (Parish) Sanders, married July 1, 1996, in Herrin. five children, Shawn and Ashley Thompson, Joey Wallace, Larry Sanders III, Brooke Herrin and Dylan Wallace, all of Herrin; one brother, Kenny and Beth Ogden of Carterville; two sisters, Connie and husband Terry Davie of Carterville and Ellen and husband Bryan Payne of Herrin; a half-brother, Donnie and wife Destiny Ogden of Johnston City; a half-sister, Rhonda and husband Chris Jones of Johnston City; one grandchild, who was the light of his life, Abigail Thompson; mother-in-law, Deloris Parish and father-in-law, Norman Parish of Harrisburg; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Rebecca O' Brien of Marion, Connie and Jim Oliver of Johnston City, Terri and Bill Wynn of Herrin; maternal grandmother, Sarah Manning of Herrin; extended family, Brenda and Chuck Wallace, Kirk Wallace and Kristy Bird and family; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandfather, Robert D. Manning; and paternal grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. A N. Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was a former board member of Herrin Youth Sports and a coach, and was involved with Herrin Jr. Wrestling Club. He loved Herrin High School sports. Mr. Sanders was also a organ donor. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Van Natta Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery.
