Serial robber? Cops arrest one after third bank robbery in a week

Cambridge police arrested one woman and are looking for another in connection with a bank robbery Tuesday, the third in a week in the city.

According to police, two female suspects robbed the Cambridge Savings Bank at 1378 Cambridge St. around 1:40 p.m.

Police said no weapon was shown during the robbery.

Police said they had one of the suspects in custody shortly after the robbery. She was arrested in Somerville minutes after the robbery, and will be turned over to Cambridge Police.

The second suspect, identified as 24-year-old Christine Donatello, is still at large, police said. She is described as a white female with brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police said they beileve Donatello was responsible for robbing the Bank of America at 226 Main St. March 25, and then trying to rob the Citizens Bank at 225 Cambridge St. two days later. Police spokesman Frank Pasquarello said it was unclear whether the other suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, was involved in any of the previous robberies.

Police said they believed Donatello entered the bank, passed a note to a teller claiming to have a weapon and demanded an undisclosed amount of money. The second suspect, according to police, was waiting for her outside.
