BE KIND REWIND, 3 1/2 stars (PG-13) Jack Black is a man with a magnetized brain who accidentally erases all the videos in his friend's store (Mos Def). To fix things, they decide to remake every movie.

CHARLIE BARTLETT, 3 stars (R) A teenage drug dealer (Anton Yelchin) duels with his school principal, played by someone who knows all about drugs, Robert Downey Jr.

CJ7, 1 1/2 stars (PG) A poor dad finds what he thinks is a toy for his son, who names it CJ7. Turns out it fell out of a spaceship. The plot borrows too much from "E.T." and the relationships are confusing.

COLLEGE ROAD TRIP, not reviewed (G) Melanie (Raven Symone) plans a girls-only road trip to check out prospective colleges, but her overbearing police chief father (Martin Lawrence) insists on escorting her.

COUNTERFEITERS, 3 stars (R) Part fact, part fiction story of a Nazi plan to destroy the economies of England and America by flooding both countries with fake money. Awarded best foreign language Oscar.

DOOMSDAY, not reviewed (R) Elite scientists work frantically to defeat a lethal virus that's devastated a major city and threatens to spread quickly.

DRILLBIT TAYLOR, 2 stars (PG-13) Owen Wilson as a homeless soldier of fortune signs on as a bodyguard to three bullied high school boys until peace is restored. Blend of heart and irreverent humor.

DR. SEUSS' HORTON HEARS A WHO, 3 stars (G) Dr. Seuss' classic is beautifully drawn and engaging for both kids and adults. Wonderfully voiced by Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Carol Burnett and Will Arnett.

FUNNY GAMES, 2 stars (R) Director Michael Haneke's remake of his 1997 German-language film about a pair of psychotic young men who brutally torture a vacationing family.

HANNAH MONTANA AND MILEY CYRUS, 2 stars (PG) Shot during her 54-city musical tour in 2007, this 3-D concert film captures Miley Cyrus performing both as herself and as Hannah Montana.

IN BRUGES, 3 1/2 stars (R) On top of Martin McDonagh's brilliant writing and the beauty of Belgium's capital city, you get Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as hit men hiding out, with Ralph Fiennes as their boss.

JUMPER, 2 1/2 stars (PG-13) Science fiction/fantasy flick about people (jumpers) who transport themselves through space and time. With Haydn Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, Samuel L. Jackson.

JUNO, 3 1/2 stars (PG-13) A pregnant teen gives her baby to a yuppie couple in this honest and moving film. Great performance by Ellen Page. With Allison Janney, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner.

MARRIED LIFE, 3 stars (PG-13) So good you feel bad for Harry (Chris Cooper), plotting to kill his wife to take up with another woman. Top-notch cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Patricia Clarkson and Rachel McAdams.

MILITARY INTELLIGENCE AND YOU!, not reviewed, Biting satire based on the U.S.'s military strategy of 'attack first, find evidence later.' Writer/director Dale Kutzera combines new and vintage clips.

NEVER BACK DOWN, 1 star (PG-13) New kid in town challenged by a bully finds his way into the world of mixed-martial-arts fighting, where a tough teacher takes him under his wing. Simplistic and cliche-ridden.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, 4 stars (R) Joel and Ethan Coen ("Fargo") return to form with this mythical neo-Western about a sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) trying to capture a ruthless murderer.

THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL, 3 1/2 stars (PG-13) Henry VIII (Eric Bana) romanced Mary Boleyn (Scarlett Johansson) before wedding her older sister Anne (Natalie Portman). A beautifully executed and powerful film.

MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY, 3 stars (PG-13) Adaptation of a 1930s Brit novel as a neo-screwball comedy with Frances McDormand and Amy Adams is enjoyable and fun but instantly forgettable.

PARANOID PARK, 3 1/2 stars (R) Gus Van Sant's story about a skateboarder is a murder mystery, a study of adolescent angst and a work of art.

SEMI-PRO, 1 star (R) Another Will Ferrell sports comedy, only this one is really bad. It has no story line, just bad gags of both the physical and visual variety.

SHUTTER, not reviewed, A teen horror flick featuring a married couple, Joshua Jackson ("Dawson's Creek") and Rachael Taylor, who discover strange images in photographs they develop.

SNOW ANGELS, 2 1/2 stars (R) Ensemble piece about love and tragedy is gripping and fresh one minute, bland and predictable the next. With Sam Rockwell, Kate Beckinsale, Michael Angarano.

STEP UP 2 THE STREETS, 3 stars (PG-13) The same attributes that made "Step Up" a hit 18 months ago - hot girl, ripped guy, dazzling dancing, irresistible music, shattered traditions - it's all on the menu again.

TYLER PERRY'S MEET THE BROWNS, not reviewed. Tyler Perry wrote, directed and stars as the fun-loving granny, Madea, in this serio-comedy about a struggling single mother from Chicago who regains her faith in humanity.

VANTAGE POINT, 2 stars (PG-13) Matthew Fox and Dennis Quaid play secret agents on the hunt for an assassin after the president (William Hurt) is shot in Spain.
