Video: Storms flood homes, roads in Missouri
Kendricktown flooded
Residents of Kendricktown woke to find the spring river spilling into their yards and homes overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Dozens of residents had to abandon their homes due to the flooding. Spring river is not expected to return to its banks until late Thursday.
Kellogg Lake
Spring River nearly topped the east abutment of the original route 66 bridge in Kellogg Lake Park on Wednesday.
CFD rescue
Carthage Firefighters were sent to the Dogwood road bridge over Center Creek south of Carthage Wednesday afternoon to pull Cathy Whited out of her car. Whited said her car stalled when the water rose higher than she expected, trapping her in the car for about 45 minutes.
Cathy's husband Phil, and Fire Battalion Chief Roger Williams attempted to rescue Cathy, but were unable to reach her due to the swift water.
Fire engineer's Jason Martin and Dave Myers with the help of Dave Gaston and a backhoe owned by James Remillard, were able to reach Cathy and pull her to safety Wednesday afternoon.
