From Butcher Holler to Peoria, Loretta can still knock 'em dead

Loretta Lynn has been a queen of country music since the 1960s, but it was her 2004 collaboration with Jack White of Detroit rock band The White Stripes that critics called her best work.

"I would say it's probably true," Lynn said of "Van Lear Rose." She and White won two Grammys for the effort, including best country album. "Me and him was just delighted, because I didn't expect it, you know? I really didn't. I figured people would just laugh us off because of Jack being rock 'n' roll, me being so country. But everybody really loved it."
