Williamson County voters approve capital funding tax

They came, and Tuesday voters opted to provide money to build it. The countywide sales tax referendum to fund school construction passed by a 9,066-8,324 margin.

"I'm ecstatic, this is groundbreaking for Illinois," said Crab Orchard Superintendent Derek Hutchins. "All of us in the county spent a lot of time on this. I'm tickled to death."
