Wheaton alumnus killed in Afghanistan

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Rob Miller, a 2002 graduate of Wheaton North High School, was killed in combat Friday, Jan. 25 near Barikowt, Afghanistan.

The 24-year-old was deployed out of Forg Bragg, N.C., where he served in the Army's special forces. During his service he received the Army Commendation Medal for Valor.

Funeral arrangements have been made in Oviedo, Fla., where his family lives.

He is survived by his parents Philip and Maureen; his brothers Thomas, Martin and Edward; and sisters Joanna, Mary, Therese and Patricia.
