Food for Thought: Your seafood could make you rich
Check Your Seafood for Valuables
Twice in two weeks recently, diners found pearls in their seafood. In the first instance, a Florida man discovered a large, rare iridescent purple pearl in his steamed clams - and it's possibly worth thousands of dollars, according to news reports. Then just recently, a New Jersey man bit down on a pea-sized pearl while eating fried oysters. He's not as lucky though - the pearl is misshapen and isn't considered all that valuable.
Critic's Cupboard: Bumble Bee Prime Fillet Chicken Breast
The Bumble Bee chicken breast is a fully cooked, shelf-stable chicken breast in a foil pouch, which can be heated in the oven, microwave or stovetop. The skinless, boneless breast comes in three varieties: Garlic & Herb, Southwest Seasonings and Barbeque Sauce. There was nothing the taste-testers liked about the Garlic & Herb chicken breast, including the taste, texture, price and grill marks that looked like they had been painted on. The testers weren't even sold on the convenience, reasoning that it doesn't take much time to cook a chicken breast. "It's mushy, like it's been cooked too much." "I think it's canned chicken, compressed." "It's got a funny aftertaste." "Even I wouldn't eat it, and I eat everything." Would they buy it? Most definitely not, said all of the testers. -- State Journal-Register
