WQRF-39 to kick off Rockford area's first 6:30 p.m. newscast Monday

WQRF-39 (Comcast 6) will start a 6:30 p.m. news show Monday anchored by Alan Jones, who'll continue to anchor the channel's 9 p.m. newscast.

FOX 39 Evening News will be the first and only 6:30 p.m. newscast in the Rockford market.

"If people can't watch our WTVO Channel 17 News at 5 or 6, they have a new option," said Kent Harrell, news director.

Paul Youngblood will deliver his StormTracker Weathercast, and Scott Leber will provide his nightly SportsFlash on the new newscast.
