Pontiac flooding: It's not as bad in county

Livingston County outside Pontiac was having few water-related problems, although standing water remained in some areas, Sheriff Robert McCarty said.

Thursday morning there was a report of some water on roads in Newtown Township, in the northwest corner of the county and downriver from Pontiac, but roads otherwise had "pretty much dried off," as water was going into ditches and creeks on its way to the Vermilion River, the sheriff indicated.
