Police: Clinton victim died of stab wounds
- A Saturday morning autopsy revealed the cause of death of the victim in Friday's homicide in Clinton was due to multiple stabbings.
Kevin E. Adams of 65 Utica St. in Clinton, the grandson of Edward Bogan, has been charged with second degree murder in the case of his grandfather's death.
Police said they found a four-inch folding pocket knife at the scene that they believe Adams used to stab Bogan. Bogan suffered a hemorrhage in neck, resulting in death, according to the autopsy.
A press conference was held at 10 a.m. where members of the Oneida County Sherrif's Department, Kirkland Police Department, New Hartford Police Department and Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara answered these questions.
Several questions still remain:
*Why did the stabbing occur?
*Why did Adams turn himself in to New Hartford Police?
*Whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Police said Adams does not have a record or a history of violence.
A felony hearing is scheduled for Adams at 1 p.m., Wednesday in New Hartford Town Court.
