Police: Watertown robber may have struck local bank

Medford police are searching for a suspect they believe may be the same person who robbed a Watertown bank in late December.

According to police reports, a man walked into the Eastern Bank at 410 Riverside Ave. at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday and passed a note to a teller indicating to put some cash in an envelope for him.

No weapon was shown at that time. The Watertown bank was robbed Dec. 28.

The suspects in both the Medford and Watertown robberies share similar physical features and police now believe he may be the same person.

Anyone recognizing the individual in photos accompanying this story or who has any information regarding either of these robberies is asked to call the Medford Police Inspectional Services Unit at 781-391-6766 or Watertown Detectives at 617-972-6540.
