Davis Junction man surrenders after threats, standoff

A Davis Junction man held Ogle County sheriff's deputies at bay for more than two hours Tuesday while he threatened to hurt himself with a knife after a domestic dispute at Rolling Meadows Trailer Park, according to sheriff's reports.

About 2 a.m., deputies were called to the trailer, at 4989 N. Illinois 251, when they learned that Jeremy Gruner, 26, had "been in an altercation with a family member" and was threatening to hurt himself with a knife.

After two hours of negotiating with Gruner, deputies arrested him without incident. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct.

He was in the Ogle County Jail without bond.
