Lady Roughriders fall to Carl Albert

Down by three points at halftime, Crowder College was never able to full rally against visiting Carl Albert State College.

Carl Albert prevailed 94-77 in this game Monday at Bob Sneller Gymnasium.

Carl Albert led 46-43 at halftime, but took advantage of three straight turnovers by Crowder to open the second half.

"They shot the ball well," said Crowder coach Tina Robbins. "I haven't got the totals yet, but I'm sure they shot over 50 percent from the field. We gave them too many open looks and they did a good job of penetrating and hitting the open shots."

Blaire Larson scored 26 points for Crowder in the defeat. Tara Massey added 15 points and Afton Baldwin added 13 points. Tacora Simmons chipped in with 11 points.

Joelle Apon scored 22 points for CASC. Sheila Nave had 19 points, while Erin Wright scored 13 points. Brittany Baker and Romy Calderon scored 12 points each.

Crowder (2-8) stays at home to play visiting North Arkansas at 7 p.m. Thursday night.
