Thanksgiving Day: Pilgrims Progress & the National Day of Mourning

<span style="font-size: 9pt;">The </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Plymouth</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> waterfront was filled with outdoor activity Thanksgiving Day. Visitors and locals flooded </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Water Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> - visiting The Rock and enjoying the warm, sunny, scenic day along the harbor. Some participated in two annual thought-provoking events. </span>

<span style="font-size: 9pt;">Pilgrims set afoot at </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">10 a.m.</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">, marching to a drummer's beat. They trooped down </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">North Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> to Plymouth Rock, preceded along </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Water Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">, and stepped up </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Leydon Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> - the Pilgrims' </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">First Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> - continuing through </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">Town Square</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">, along </span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">School Street</span><span style="font-size: 9pt;">, and up the steps to the top of Burial Hill. They traversed southward past the many graves of their brethren to the site of their Colonial fort, and then assembled for a singing of psalms and words of their circumstance and survival. Their sentiment enunciated, the Pilgrims descended the main stairway from Burial Hill to First Parish and the Church of the Pilgrimage for services and spiritual reflection.</span>
