Utica Double homicide: 'Lot of people working on this case'
Police still are investigating today Thursday's double homicide on Stark Street.
"We have a lot of people working on this case," said Deputy Chief Richard Stemmer.
The shootings, which happened shortly after 11 a.m. at 942-944 Stark St., resulted in the death of two men and the hospitalization of a third victim, police said.
Those killed are:
* Hungria Ferreira, 54, who lived at that address and died inside the home.
* Orlando Curtis, 23, of Utica, who died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
The name of the third victim who remains in the hospital has not been released.
Public Safety Commissioner Phil Taurisano said police worked through the night on the case.
"We have some very promising leads," he said. "This was an isolated incident that we feel was some kind of deal, whether drugs or other things that went awry."
