A close shave: Waffles the cat's haircut key to reuniting him with his owner

Waffles' haircut was the key to reuniting him with his owner last Thursday.

The orange, 5-year-old cat went missing from his John Poulter Road home late last month. His owner, Virginia Tavilla, said he used to be an outdoor cat and is often found sitting by the door.

"One day he just got away from me quicker than I could catch up to him," she said.

He was gone for more than a week.

"I was heartsick," Tavilla said. "He was such a good pet."
