Missouri bridge closed because of too much movement

The hundreds of motorists who cross the historic bridge on Route J will have to find another way around after a routine inspection revealed a problem in the substructure.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews were at the Little Niangua Bridge on Wednesday to begin repairs in response to the structural issues identified last week. The suspension bridge spans 520 feet over the Little Niangua River.
