TOLL HIKES - Tolls on the Massachusetts Turnpike are going up, despite cost-cutting proposals including layoffs, elimination of discounts and real estate sales. Transportation Secretary Bernard Cohen is recommending an increase of 25 cents each way for cars from Route 128 to downtown Boston on Interstate 90 and 50 cents on the $3 one-way tolls at the Ted Williams and Sumner tunnels.
