Kathryn Rem: The art of cookbooks

When Nancy Simko Hughes graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1968, no one expected her to become a cookbook author with nine titles to her name and contributions to 33 other cookbooks.

Her interest back then was art. After graduation, Hughes earned a degree in interior design from the Atlanta School of Fashion and Design, after which she got married, worked as an interior designer, had a baby and then grew frustrated because she couldn't "lose those last 10 baby pounds."
