Mohegan Chief Ralph Sturges dies

Mohegan Chief Ralph Sturges, who guided his tribe through federal recognition and the decision to open a casino, has died at the age of 88.

Sturges died early this morning at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, according to tribal spokesman Joe Smith.
