Colgate's Upstate Institute launches lifelong learning program

A committee of community members with the Upstate Institute at Colgate University has developed plans for a Lifelong Learning Program.

The program is open to any adult interested in continuing to learn and spend time with like-minded individuals. There are no educational requirements.

The program will begin this fall with a "Fall Sampler," which will include mini courses by Colgate faculty, peer-taught courses, and special events and discussion groups.

Programs planned for the fall include: "Gorillas in the Bwindi Mist" presented by Ellen Percy Kraly, professor of geography; "Does God Exist?" presented by David Dudrick, associate professor of philosophy; and "Global Leadership Today: Voluntary Action, Local Influence and World Impact in 21st Century America" presented by Dick Cheshire, local author and member of the Lifelong Learning Program steering committee.
