Running back Wolfe watches as team changes

The Bears changed quarterbacks and may change several defensive starters because of a slew of injuries. But rookie running back Garrett Wolfe says nothing has changed at his position.

<p class="MsoNormal">Starter Cedric Benson is off to a slow start, averaging 3.2 yards a carry, and backup Adrian Peterson (calf) is listed on the injury report for being limited at practice.

<p class="MsoNormal">"I'm going to be used as a situational back," said the third-round draft pick from Northern Illinois University. "We've been in a situation where the game hasn't called for one of those situations for me to be able to go in.

<p class="MsoNormal">"I understand everyone would love to get in there and play. The reality of it is that everyone can't. Everybody can't play the entire game."

<p class="MsoNormal">As for seeing an increased role, he smiles and says, "I hope so."

<p class="MsoNormal">"But I couldn't give an accurate answer to that," he said. "That's for coach (Ron) Turner or coach (Lovie) Smith. They can answer better than I can."

<p class="MsoNormal">Wolfe has had one pass thrown his way - it resulted in an interception. He has yet to carry the ball.

<p class="MsoNormal">Still, he knows he has to be ready. Just in case.

<p class="MsoNormal">"That's obvious - they're not afraid to make a change," he said. "If things go well, things will stay the same. If not, there will be opportunities."
