Town rallies around family of murdered girl

Teachers and parents have flocked to the Pingree School in East Weymouth this week, searching for a way to explain to students there what happened to one of their 6-year-old classmates.

The school where Joanna Mullin attended kindergarten and was about to enter the first grade opened its doors Tuesday and Wednesday, providing a place for people to meet with school councilors and grieve together, Weymouth Superintendent Joseph Rull said.
