White Sox notebook: Wassermann proving everyone wrong

Four years ago, Ehren Wassermann found himself surrounded mostly by has-beens, never-will-bes and the disillusioned who thought they actually stood a chance of making it to the big leagues.

The right-handed pitcher had just graduated after a successful career at Samford University and thought he could play a little pro ball, so he went to a regional tryout camp, where anyone who wants to can show up for what is usually a waste of time for professional scouts.
