Cubs notebook: Wood passes first test

No sooner was Kerry Wood activated from the 60-day disabled list than the Cubs veteran passed his first test Friday.

In a brief bullpen session before the game, Wood played catcher for Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
