White Sox notebook: Counting out Contreras

Jose Contreras' pitch velocity has dropped for reasons no one can quite figure out, and pitching coach Don Cooper isn't counting on it coming back.

The White Sox will still try to get Contreras' fastball back in the low- to mid-90s (mph) and are hopeful it could happen, but they're preparing him as though it's gone, perhaps for good.
