Employee fired after robbery -- for having too much money in register

While state police said clerks at Cumberland Farms provided valuable information that helped solve a robbery at the store Wednesday evening, company officials apparently weren't nearly as impressed.

Mary Rumrill, a 20-year employee of Cumberland Farms, said the company terminated her two days after the robbery for having too much money in her cash drawer -- a violation of company regulations. Rumrill, 68, said she was notified by her supervisor on Friday that she had the option of resigning or being fired.
