Prep Golf: EHS girls, 2 from HHS qualify for Sectionals

It was a coming out party for both the Eldorado and Harrisburg girls' golf team Wednesday at the Mt. Carmel Regional.

The Eagles took second with a 381, falling to champion Hamilton County, who was led by medalist Kylee Vaughn as the Foxes shot a 308 and will be joined at the Alton Sectional with Mt. Carmel, who shot a 396.

Oblong was fourth with a 410 and Harrisburg finished fifth with a 411.

The Bulldogs missed out on qualifying as a team, but will send individuals Gabby Adams (95) and Alli Ferrell (101) to the IHSA Class 1A Sectional Monday.

Overall, Vaughn won the event with a 75 to take top honors.

Eldorado got a 91 from Keely Tate and a 95 from Derian Corn. Ashlyn Sizemore shot a 96 and Emma Wargel rounded out the scoring with a 99. Hannah Clark (128) and Chloe Hookins (134) played for EHS, but their scores did not count.

After Adams and Ferrell's scores, Madeline DeNeal fired a 107 and Annabella Robinson shot a 108.

Eldorado will be joined at the Sectional by the winner from the Teutopolis, Anna-Jonesboro and Waterloo Gibault Regional.
