Ice Breaker Softball Tournament
Girls from throughout Illinois and neighboring states came to the Southern Illinois Center at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds Friday-Sunday, to participate in a competitive tournament. Inside the Center, two fields are in nearly constant use, as 24 teams participate.

Dennis Loucks of Pinckneyville
Dennis R. Loucks, 68, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Dennis worked at General Cable for 26 years and retired from Walmart. He attended Concord Baptist Church in Rice, Illinois. He was a United States Army veteran.
