Arson, attempted-murder suspects held without bail

Two of three defendants accused of arson and attempted murder after allegedly setting a house fire on Beechwood Avenue in Lakeville on Aug. 6 will be held without bail until a pre-trial hearing on Sept. 3 following a dangerousness hearing Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Pamela J. Mcglew, 51, of 13 King St., Taunton, was released by Wareham Fourth District Court Judge Rosemary Minehan on her own recognizance on the charges stemming from the house fire but was transferred to the Taunton jurisdiction to answer an outstanding warrant on her there.

Cristal A. Mcintyre, 32, of 1B Emma Lane, Wareham, and Patricia E. Mcintyre, 42, of 12 Church St., Livermore Falls, Maine, were held without bail for their alleged role in dousing 13 Beechwood Ave. with gasoline and lighting it on fire on Aug. 6 around 12:18 a.m.

Lakeville Police Officer Daniel Mosher and Sgt. Steven Leanues testified that Mcglew is accused of driving the vehicle in which the Mcintyres, who are a married couple, rode to Lakeville to seek a confrontation with Jeremy Gerrier of 13 Beechwood Ave.

The Mcintyres are accused of setting the actual blaze, which caused minor damage to the vinyl siding under the eaves of the house, and which Gerrier successfully doused with a garden hose.

Mosher stopped a Silver Toyota Rav-Four, described as the vehicle leaving the scene, minutes after the fire was reported, and arrested the three defendants and brought them to the station for questioning. He later found a half-filled can of gasoline and a lighter on the floor of the back seat.

Mosher said Mcglew told him she was aware only that her two passengers were planning to "punch somebody out" in Lakeville.

He said Mcglew stated she stayed in the car while the Mcintyres exited to approach the address.

Mosher said Cristal Mcintyre stated she doesn't recall who lit the fire.

Leanues said when he arrived at the scene of the fire Gerrier was hosing down where flames had blackened and melted the Beechwood Avenue home's vinyl siding, and that Gerrier accused "my crazy so-called sister-in-law."

Assistant District Attorney Christopher Davidson motioned that all three be held without bail.

Mcglew's attorney, Edward H. Sharkansky, successfully argued that the state had not met the burden of proof against his client. "She was a foolish follower. She is hardly a principle in this case."

Patricia E. Mcintyre is charged with attempted murder, arson, and resisting arrest; Pamela J. Mcglew with attempted murder, arson, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; and Cristal A. Mcintyre with attempted murder, and arson.
