Arena Football League 2010: Nick Hill, Predators open season Saturday

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin's Nick Hill, and his new team, the Orlando Predators of the newly relaunched Arena Football League will kick off the season Saturday April 10 the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings at the The CenturyTel Center.

The game starts at 7:05 and be available online via NiftyTV.

All 16 Preds games will be broadcasted online using the NiftyTV software. Several Predators games this year will be available on the NFL Network; against Jacksonville (April 16) and Iowa (April 30).

The BattleWings are 1-0 after winning its first game against the Alabama Vipers by a score of 54-48. This is the first game that the Predators have played since its 2008. The 2009 season of the AFL was put on hold and Nick played for the now defunct Rio Grande Valley Dorados.

Hill led the af2 league in total offense with 312.7 Yards per Game, lead the league in Passing Average Yards a game with 301.1 yds, and he was fifth in pass efficiency, and 19th in Rushing with 11.5 yards per game.

The BattleWings were also playing in the af2 last year and Hill led the Dorados in three games against Bossier-Shreveport.

In the first game he passed for five TD and 258 yards and the Dorados lost 59-56. The second game was also won by the Battle Wings by a score of 76-59. In that game Hill assed for 385 yards and 9 TD's and 2 INT's. The Dorados won the last of the three games by a score of 58-49 with Nick pitching in with 338 yards and 6 TD.

Hill signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free-agent out of SIU-C in 2008. He was released at the end of training camp and then signed with the Rio Grande Valley Dorados for the 2009 season. He led the league in passing throwing 4,517 yards and 93 touchdowns.

Hill also ended the season as the 19th ranked rusher in the league, running for 173 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Nick served the past two fall's as a volunteer assistant coach at Du Quoin High School, working under his prep coach, Al Martin.
