HHS girls finish behind Massac, boys take third
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jessa Handwerk turned in her best score of the year, firing a 39 and taking home medalist honors, but it wasn't enough for her Bulldog teammates to upend Massac County.
The Patriots shot a 172 to Harrisburg's 187 at a triangular match at the Gambit Golf Course in Vienna with Goreville pulling up the rear with a 227.
Michaela King carded a 48 and Paige Haney added a 49. Chelsea Gulley rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs with a 51.
On the boys side, the Bulldogs finished in the middle of the pack with a 201.
Massac County took home the team victory with a 146 and Vienna followed up with a 180. Goreville (206) and NCOE (216) rounded out the field.
Alexander Tison, a freshman, fired a 43 and Caleb Bartok finished with a 49.
Remington Isaaacs (53), Garrett Smith (56) and Aaron Head (58) rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.
The Harrisburg girls' team will compete at Franklin County Country Club in West Frankfort on Thursday.
