The first half alone told the complete story of Eldorado's game with Vienna Saturday on the road where in the first two quarters the Eagles had four possessions and scored four touchdowns.

On the flip side, Vienna had four first half possessions and had just one first down.

As a result, Eldorado took a 28-0 lead into the locker room and were able to seal the deal in the second half, coming away with a 34-7 victory.

"Really proud of the way our kids came out and played right off the bat," EHS head coach Brandon Hampton said. "Vienna is a tough place to play, the environment, it's a Saturday, I thought our kids got themselves ready to play. We did something a little unique and just got off the bus real close to kickoff and just come out and play. We got off to a great that and that really kept us going offensively and defensively."

Even more impressive for head coach Hampton was the fact that for the first time in a long time, the fourth year Eagle skipper has guided a team to a sixth win.

Hampton said that it's been a process and something that wasn't an overnight deal.

"When we started, we started at the bottom," Hampton said. "But all the work those guys have done in the weight room, in the summer time, I think now you can see it starting to pay off. The style we play, you have to have your body in great physical condition. We're there right now and the big thing our football program is focusing on is finishing strong. Five wins is great and it's a big deal. As a coach, when you commit to being someplace long term like Eldorado, you hope five wins is expected and you can find a way to do this year in and year out, but really proud of the way we finished today."

Dylan Ward got the scoring going in the first quarter when he found the end zone from nine yards out with 9:55 to play. That score was followed by Deshawn Turner finding pay dirt from five yards out with 3:17 to play.

In the second quarter, EHS quarterback Joe Blair hooked up with Ben Genet from 32 yards out with 7:54 to play. The drive was a 98-yard drive that lasted more than nine minutes.

Eldorado's final score of the first half came compliments of Turner who took a pitch 38-yards down the Vienna sideline with 3:37 left to play.

Eagle senior kick Andy Pena was 4-for-4 on his point after attempts in the first half. Pena's lone miss came in the second half after he was unable to convert after Tyler Deaton scored from 10 yards out with 2:59 to play in the third.

Vienna's lone score came at the 9:22 mark in the fourth quarter when Patrick Gray scored from three yards out.

Hampton complimented his offense in their pursuit to find the end zone Saturday, but more so, Hampton had high praise for his offensive line and his running backs.

"We have a good offensive football team and for the most part, the only people who can stop our offense is ourselves. We do that with penalties and turnovers and we didn't do that in the first half. We imposed our will and I thought coach Clark and the offensive coaches were patient with their plan. When they changed the look we were right on top of it and threw play action when they didn't have anyone back there. "
