SIC take two games against Mid-Continent
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Southeastern Illinois Community College baseball took a pair of games Monday against Mid-Continent University out of Mayfield, Ky.
In the first game, Murray, Ky., native Roman Kelly (1-0) pitched the Falcons to a 11-10 victory, giving up a hit in two innings of work. Kelly struck out three, walked three and allowed just one earned run.
Tommie Branham was 4-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored and four RBIs, including the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh.
Luis Bruno finished 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Also going 2-f0r-4 in the win was Austin Hargrove and Harrisburg native Dylan Rasch, who added a double and an RBI.
Former Bulldog Cain Sheldon was hit by a pitch and walked in the game.
In Game 2, SIC won 9-4 where Hargrove continued his tear, finishing 4-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, while Branham was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs and two runs scored. Sheldon was 2-for-2 with a double and walk and Rash finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
EJ Kruase (1-1) got the win, pitching one inning, giving up two hits, two walks and a strikeout.
The Falcons are now 5-3 and will play at home Thursday against Vincennes in a double-header at Noon. Over the weekend, SIC, will travel to Jefferson College (Hillsboro, MO) to take on Parkland and Jefferson in Jefferson College Invitational. Game times will be at Noon and 3 p.m. each day.
