Harrisburg High School senior, Marriah Hunt, signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg on a full scholarship Friday.

SIC, an NJCAA Division 1 softball program, is a member of the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.

“We like her speed in the outfield and the way she swings a bat,” said Ross Hill, SIC head softball coach, when asked about the new recruit.

Hunt has played three years of softball for HHS, winning the sacrificial award each year for the most sacrifice bunts.

An outfielder and a catcher, she looks forward to playing at the collegiate level.

Academically, Hunt plans to major in elementary education.
