86 ballots are cast in Du Quoin early voting

Du Quoin City Hall was opened to early voters by the Perry County Clerk's office from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Election spokeswoman Mary Gerrish said by the end of the evening 86 ballots had been cast for the April 9 election. Voters got to review the choices on this sample ballot posted at the entrance to the polling place. Voting is a privilege and you are encouraged to be part of a very important process next Tuesday. The newspaper will revisit the area races on Friday.
