Tucker Bryant is a hard hat and lunch pail kind of wrestler

At least that's the way Harrisburg head coach Greg Langley describes him.

Bryant will make a run at a state title for Harrisburg after the senior came away with a second place finish in the 220-pound division at the IHSA Sectional in Vandalia over the weekend.

Bryant started his day with first and second round bye.

The senior then beat Unity's Grat Albaugh by a 7-2 decision, setting up a championship match against Adam Maxwell, from Lawrenceburg Latham, who got a pinfall against Bryant at the 3:14 mark in the second period.

"He's very deserving of this," Langley said. "He's the kind of kid that has paid his dues, with his work ethic and the things he has done in practice to get to this point. When he gets on the mat, he's very focused and understands exactly what he needs to do. He's not flashy, but he's a blue-collar worker. He just gets the job done with pure determination and drive."

Bryant is 32-6 on the season and will wrestle on Thursday at the State Farm Center.

The other four wrestlers for Harrisburg at Saturday's sectional in Vandalia: Chantz Jaegers, Bradyn Whiting, Bryant Lester and Rayne Jerel all lost in the wrestle backs.
