Eldorado avenges EHT loss, beats Carmi

Eldorado avenged its Eldorado Holiday Tournament quarterfinal loss to Carmi-White County, by picking up a 40-27 Black Diamond Conference home win Friday night at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.

Ladayyea Shewmaker was the lone Eagle to score in double figures as the senior had a game-high 12 points.

Aiden Whitlock netted nine in the victory for EHS, while Bryant Byrd and Nolan Milligan each added eight points. Parker Price dropped two points and Noah Smith tossed in a free throw.

Eldorado jumped out to a 13-5 first quarter lead and led 23-12 at the break. Carmi-White County outscored Eldorado 10-8 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 31-22, but the Bulldogs were outscored 9-5 in the final eight minutes in the loss.

CWC got a team-high nine points from Ethan Mahon, while Peyton Edwards scored seven points. Devin Rankin chipped in with six points, while Ty Stubblefield tossed in three points and Ty Barbre tacked on two points.
