Carrier Mills picks up GEC win over Gallatin Co.

Colton Mitchell had a team-high 15 points and was the only Carrier Mills-Stonefort player in double figures as the Wildcats picked up a 49-43 Greater Egyptian Conference win over Gallatin County Friday night.

Gallatin County's Dawson Hish led all scorers with 21 points as the Hawks' rally late fell short.

CMSF jumped out to a 13-7 lead and led 24-20 at halftime, despite being outscored 13-11. The Wildcats maintained its advantage, leading 35-31 after three quarters of play and outscored Gallatin County 14-13 in the final eight minutes.

Mason Gilliam netted nine for CMSF, while Zavier Rollins added eight points. Rielly Ward scored six points, while Brandon Hambleton finished with five points. Colton Betz had four points and Aidan Rollins tossed in two points.

After Hish's 21 points, Case Rister and Garrett Crane both finished with five points. Brock Seely had four points, while Will Henson, Michael Scherrer and Jeremy Brugger all had a free throw.
