Bulldogs tie for sixth in stacked field; EHS wins match over Hardin Co.

The Harrisburg High School boys' golf team turned in a sixth place performance at Wednesday's Marion Invitational at Kokopelli Golf Course.

Belleville Althoff won the event with a 300, while Benton was second at 307. Marion took third with a 330 and West Frankfort was fourth after firing a team-total 331.

Herrin was fifth with a 336 and Centralia tied with Harrisburg, shooting 344.

The field was rounded out by Massac County (358), Carterville (358), Carbondale (364), Mt. Carmel (374) and Mt. Vernon (339).

Individually, Harrisburg was led by Andrew Bittle, who finished ninth overall and shot a 79.

Ashton Hall was 14th overall after carding an 82, while Krayton Morse (91) and Grant Wilson (92) rounded out the top four scores for the Bulldogs.

Hayden Emery played for Harrisburg and came away with a 103.

Eldorado took down Hardin County 196-206 in boys golf action earlier this week.

Evan Coyle took match medalist honors, leading the Eagles with a 39. Noah Smith fired a 41 and Braden Unthank finished with a 42. Kaiden Lloyd's 47 rounded out the top four scores for Eldorado, while A.J. Hankins carded a 51 and Zac Stafford shot a 60.
