Payne, Harrisburg hammers Anna-Jonesboro

Kerrigan Payne had herself a day as the freshman smacked two home runs and finished with seven RBI in Harrisburg's 15-1 win over Anna-Jonesboro in six innings Monday.

Payne went 3-for-3 at the plate, which included a three-run home run in the third inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Karsyn Davis and Madeline Rider also had a multiple hit day as Rider went 3-for-4 with three RBI and led the game off with a home run, giving her seven on the season. Davis was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Essence Sanders was 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Hannah Reid went 2-for-4.

Lydia Miller improved to 6-0 in the circle and she tossed a six hitter. Miller faced 25 batters and struck out three, while allowing one eared run.

Harrisburg (24-5) is scheduled to be at Hardin County today (Tuesday) and will host Carbondale Wednesday. On Saturday, the Bulldogs will play host to Du Quoin and Fairfield in a doubleheader, starting at 11 a.m.
