Bulldogs outhit Herrin for SIRR Ohio win

Harrisburg came out hot, batting around in the first inning and putting up six runs en route to a 14-3 win at Herrin Monday afternoon.

Will Gibbs went 4-for-5 in the leadoff spot, smacking a first inning double and finishing with four RBI and a run scored to pace the Bulldog offense.

Javie Beal finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while Ben Brombaugh was also 3-for-4 with two runs driven in and three runs scored.

Isaac Crabb went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Will Holland, Jack Martin, Noah Boon, Connor Phalin and Drew Fromm all had one hit.

Boon had two RBI on the day, while Fromm finished with one. Holland and Martin both scored two runs, while Jake Hefner, Jacob Penrod, Fromm and Phalin all scored one run.

Boon picked up the win on the bump as he went five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits, while striking out eight and walking one.

Harrisburg was slated to play at Massac County Tuesday and will play at Carbondale on Friday.
