Hawks shut out NCOE

Garrett Rushing tossed a four-hitter, while Grant Bosaw and Drake Scherrer accounted for six of the Hawks' nine hits in a 7-0 shutout win over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Tuesday afternoon.

Rushing went seven innings and struck out seven, while walking two and at the plate, Bosaw was 3-for-4 and Scherrer went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Blake Seely, Dustin Drone and Rushing all had one hit.

Audie Goebel drove in three runs, while Drone had one RBI and a run scored. Robbie Prince, along with Brock and Blake Seely each scored one run.

<b>Galatia 5, Carrier Mills 3</b>

The Galatia baseball team kicked off Greater Egyptian Conference play with a 5-3 win over Carrier Mills-Stonefort Tuesday.

Braxton Lane picked up the win for the Bearcats as Colton Betz took the loss for CMSF.

Lane went five innings and gave up no runs. Noah Frailey started the sixth and gave up two runs before AJ Hankins relieved Frailey and surrendered one run.

Lane was 4-for-4 at the plate to help out his cause on the mound. Brendon Mondino was 2-for-2 with two walks, while Cayleb Reed, Grayson Woolard and Trevor Hale were all 2-for-4.
