Eagles fall at home to Pope County

Pope County scored four runs in the fourth inning and went on to beat Eldorado 7-2 Monday at the EHS Sports Complex.

"We committed three errors that turned into three runs," EHS head coach Rick Dempsey said. "We made a lot of contacts on offense, but didn't turn them into anything and we left too many runners on base."

Lexie Mitchell was 3-for-3 with three singles, an RBI a run scored and four stolen bases.

Paige Munds, Emma Wargel, Ali Joyner and Kathleyn Green all had one hit. Munds ripped a triple and scored the other run.

In the circle, Wargel took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) on six hits, while striking out three and walking two.

"We have to work harder from the beginning of the game and not on and off during the game. We just need more playing time right now," Dempsey added.

Eldorado will play at home against Benton on Thursday and host Harrisburg on Friday.
