GBK Roundup | Eldorado gets by Gallatin Co; Harrisbug picks up SIRR Ohio win at West Frankfort

Eldorado put three players in double figures as they earned a 66-27 win over neighbor Gallatin County Tuesday night at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.

Jade Hise had a co-game-high 15 points for EHS, while Emma Wargel and Lilly Mosby each netted 13 points for the Eagles in the win.

Lexie Mitchell had eight points for EHS, while Paige Munds scored seven points. Lacey Hobbs finished with five points, while MiKayla Rash tacked on three points and Lilly Gangard had two points.

For Gallatin County, Audrey Jackson scored 15 points for the Hawks and was the lone player in double figures.

Makenzie Russell scored seven points, while Molly Newton and Emma Brockett each tacked on two points. Megan Morgan had a free throw.

Eldorado will play at Carmi-White County Thursday and will be at Union County, Ky. next Tuesday to take on the Braves in Morganfield.

Harrisburg 53, West Frankfort 37

Harrisburg stayed unbeaten on the year and picked up its first SIRR Ohio win of the season, beating West Frankfort 53-37 Tuesday night at Max Morris Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs put three players in double figures as both Madeline Rider and Summer Sanders had a co-team-high 13 points, while Karsyn Davis netted 11 in the win.

Alli Ferrell scored six points for Harrisburg, while Ivy Brown and Essence Sanders each finished with five points.

Harrisburg shot 36 percent from the floor on the night, knocking down 14-of-38 shots, but hit just 2-of-11 from 3-point range and managed to shoot 62 percent from the foul line, making 23-of-37 free throws.

West Frankfort was led by Maddie Carpenter, Chloe Peavey and Lexi McLarin who all had eight points.

The Redbirds shot 31 percent on 15-of-48 shooting from the field, while going 1-for-9 from behind the arc and 6-of-7 at the line.

Harrisburg outrebounded West Frankfort 27-25 with 20 of the Bulldogs' boards coming on the defensive end. Harrisburg also forced the Redbirds into 18 turnovers, while the 'Dogs came up with 10 steals on the night.

The Harrisburg junior varsity team picked up a 42-37 win over West Frankfort, where the Bulldogs put two players in double figures.

Gabby Adams tacked on 13 points, while Lauryn Gribble put up 11 for Harrisburg in the win.

Stream Black scored six points, while Molly Shires finished with five points, while Lexi Williams put up four points and Kailyn Moss had three points.

Harrisburg returns to action Tuesday when they host Meridian in a varsity only game at Davenport Gymnasium.
