Vaughn edges McClusky in girls golf at SHCC

Harrisburg's Andrew Bittle and Ashton Hall each shot a 44 in a triangular match with Nashville and Hamilton County Tuesday at Shawnee Hills Country Club.

Nashville won the match with a 159, while Hamilton County shot a 161 and Harrisburg was third with a 183.

Krayton Morse had a 45 for the Bulldogs, while Ben Brombaugh 50's was the other qualifying score

Hayden Emery had a 54 for Harrisburg, while Clay Brigham shot a 61.

Hamilton County's Austyn Downen took medalist honors in the match with a 33.

Late last week at West Frankfort, Anna-Jonesboro won in a triangular at Franklin County Country Club as the Wildcats finished with a 179. The host Redbirds were second with a 162 and Harrisburg finished with a 193.

Ashton Hall fired a 43, while Andrew Bittle carded a 49. Ben Brombaugh shot a 50 and Krayton Morse finished with a 51.

On Tuesday night, Kylee Vaughn took medalist honors with a 36, helping Hamilton County edge Harrisburg 189-185 at Shawnee Hills Country Club.

Harrisburg's Madison McCLusky fired a low round 37 for the Bulldogs, while Gabby Adams and Annabella Robinson each carded a pair of 48's. Madeline DeNeal shot a 52 for the fourth qualifying score, while Alli Ferrel finished with a 55 and Gracie Behnke tacked on a 56.

After Vaughn's 36, the Foxes got a 43 from Jaylee Glenn and a 49 from Bailey Stricken. Zoe Hrindich shot a 61.

In a match late last week at Mt. Carmel, Harrisburg fell to the Aces 192-206.

Annabella Robinson and Alli Ferrell were the medalist for Harrisburg with a 49, while Madison McClusky shot a 50 and Gabby Adams finished with a 58.
