Harrisburg, Gallatin Co., pick up wins on diamond

Harrisburg stole the lead late and held on for a 6-5 victory over Olney Richland County Tuesday afternoon at Jay Thompson Field.

The game was tied at four in the bottom of the fifth when Cletcher singled on a 1-2 count, scoring Jack Martin. Earlier in the inning, Issac Crabb homered to left field to tie the game at 4-all.

Crabb then made it 6-4 with a single to left field that scored Will Holland for the much needed insurance run.

Crabb joined Presley Gauch as the only two 'Dogs to have two hits on the day. Crabb was 2-for-4 with a team-high two RBI and a run scored. Gauch went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Dalton Lambert, Easton Wallace, Holland, Martin and Cletcher all had one hit.

On the mound, Christian Williams got the win, going five strong innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, while striking out six and walking two. Dalton Lambert picked up the save in relief, giving up one run on four hits, while striking out three.

Harrisburg 4, Marion 5

A late rally by Marion wasn't enough as Harrisburg claimed a 5-4 win over the Wildcats Wednesday at Jay Thompson field.

Harrisburg struck early, scoring three runs over the first four innings. Marion tied the game at three in the top of the sixth, but Harrisburg responded with a two-run effort of their own.

Will Holland bunted into a Fielder's Choice to score Jack Martin to break the tie with one out in the sixth and that was followed by Ben Brombaugh stealing home for another run.

Noah Boon got the win for the Bulldogs, going six innings and allowing seven hits and three runs, while striking out four. Will Gibbs and Jack Martin entered the game out of the bullpen and helped seal the deal in relief as Gibbs recorded the last two outs to earn the save.

Will Gibbs, Dalton Lambert, Kent Cletcher, Carson Burtis and Will Holland all had a hit for Harrisburg.

Gallatin County 16, Hardin County 0

Blake Seely got the win on the mound and was helped out by brother Brock as the two combined to toss a two-hitter in a 16-0 win over Hardin County Wednesday.

Blake Seely went four innings, allowing one hit, while striking out two and walking one. Brock Seely went one inning and allowed one hit, while walking one.

At the plate, Gallatin County had 11 hits on the day as Wyatt Downen and Robbie Prince each went 2-for-2. Downen drove in a team-high three RBI and scored a run. Prince drove in one run.

Aaron Walters, Garrett Rushing, Audie Goebel, Drake Scherrer, Will Henson and Brock and Blake Seely all had one hit.

Gallatin County 17, Norris City-Omaha-Enfield 2

Gallatin County cranked out 22 hits in a 17-2 Greater Egyptian Conference win over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Tuesday night.

Wyatt Downen went 5-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored for the Hawks.

Aaron Walters, Garrett Rushing, Audie Goebel, Grant Bosaw, Brock and Blake Seely all had multiple hit games.

Rushing, Goebel and Downen each had three RBI, while Drake Scherrer drove in two runs, as did Blake Seely.

Robbie Prince and Hunter Artman each had one RBI to go with one hit. Gage Disney, C. Phillips and Scherrer all had one hit as well.

On the bump, Rushing picked up the win, going six innings and striking out four. He allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits, while walking one. Artman came on in relief and allowed one hit.

Fairfield 12, Eldorado 0

Bryant Byrd had the only hit for Eldorado in a 12-0 loss to Black Diamond Conference foe Fairfield Tuesday afternoon.

Byrd went 4.1 innings on the mound, giving up eight runs (five earned) on four hits, while striking out four and walking five. Kolton Oglesby came on in relief and gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits, while striking out two and walking one.
