Gallatin Co. grabs wins over Crab Orchard, Hardin Co.

The Gallatin County baseball team picked up a 5-4 win over Hardin County earlier this week and bookended it with a 12-2 win over Crab Orchard late last week.

In the win over Crab Orchard, Garrett Rushing and Audie Goebel combined for a four-hitter. Rushing went 2.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out three and walking one. Goebel came on in relief and went 3.1 innings, allowing one hit, while striking out four.

At the plate, the Hawks hammered out 13 hits as Blake Seely was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Drake Scherrer, along with, Goebel and Rushing both had two hits. Goebel and Walters both drove in three runs, while scoring two. Scherrer had an RBI and a run scored.

Wyatt Downen, Grant Bosaw, Robbie Prince and Brock Seely all had one hit. Downen, Bosaw and Brock Seely all had one RBI, while Brock Seely had a run scored and Garrett Rushing had an RBI.

In the win over Hardin County, Blake Seeley again was 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Bosaw had two hits, going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Brock Seely and Scherrer each went 1-for-3 with a run scored, while Scherrer had an RBI for the Hawks.

On the bump, Prince went four innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out four and walking three. Goebel came on to work two innings, striking out three, while giving up two runs on three hits and Rushing pitched one inning, striking out one and giving up one hit.

Hamilton County 13, Eldorado 3

Eldorado scored three runs in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead, but Hamilton County responded with a four-run fourth and added eight more runs in the fifth to rally for a 13-3 Black Diamond Conference win Tuesday.

Ben Byrd got the start and went four innings, allowing nine runs (four earned) on eight hits, while striking out three and walking three. Kolton Oglesby came on in relief and gave up four runs (three earned) on two hits and Dalton White went 1/3 of an inning, giving up two hits.

At the plate, Kolton Oglesby, Bryant Byrd, Nolan Milligan, Jacob Traxler, Jacob Etienne and Hunter Sizemore all had one hit. Etienne drove in all three runs, while Ben Byrd, Milligan and Traxler all scored one run.
